Prepare an Author’s BIO

Your site is a great place to start a following of your works. People will actually
keep checking your site for new eBooks. Include a BIO and picture to communicate a personal feeling to your audience.

Sample Chapters and Reviews

Let your reader download a sample of your book or read an excerpt on-line. Include
testimonials and reviews to sell your eBook. Include in your sample, Illustrations and
Multimedia if they are a part of your eBook.

Internet Site Setup

eBook Authors should establish an Internet site especially, if they have more than one
eBook. A site is relatively inexpensive. Also, there are many sites on the Internet that
you can get free links to your site.

Select a Domain Name and Register it

The domain name is an important part of your marketing. Sometimes the name is the
only thing the surfer will see. The name must be unique on the Internet. It must be
registered with NetworkSolutions.net. There are several companies that will handle all
this for you, for a fee.

Select a company to be your ISP (Internet Service Provider)

The ISP is your connection to the Internet. There are several good providers. The key is
to make sure your phone number connection is a local call. Long distance charges can
quickly mount up. A cable company connection avoids this problem.

Select a company to Host your site

You will also need to select a hosting service. The hosting service will provide computer
disk space to hold your pages and establish E-Mail accounts for communications.

Some authors and publishers elect to host their own site on their own computer. This is a
large investment in computers, space and people.

Create Internet Pages for your Site

There are several good page design tools. Unless you are Computer and Internet savvy,
it will pay to have these done by a professional. From the basic design to the search
engine submission to a shopping cart to buy your E-Books, this is the most important
component.

One of the growing concepts in the eBook Industry is use of other companies with
Internet sites to advertise and sell your eBook for a commission.

To get visibility, you should submit your site link to Internet search engines. The higher
on the list you are, the more people will visit your site. Also, look for individual sites
that have eBook lists that will list your eBook or site. Sharing links and WebRings
are other practices that drive people to your site.

Automated E-Mail Campaign

Establish an automated E-Mail campaign, directed at your sources and prospects.
Announce new Books, Book signings and promotions. Build an opt-in list of contacts,
prospects and customers and E-Mail them periodically. It’s important in the Internet
world today to allow your list to opt-out of the E-Mails. No spam is allowed.

Book signings

Signings are still an important part of the Book business. You should advertise book
signings on your site including the date, time and place.

Promotions

Another strategy with eBooks is to give away free eBooks as a bonus, if they
purchase your eBook. There are many good, free, eBooks available for distribution.
